How it works
From a follow to a cited answer.
Sedgem turns the podcasts and long-form sources you follow into a searchable knowledge system. Ask a grounded question, then jump back to the moment that answered it.
1. Create an account
Sign up with email, Google, or Apple. Onboarding is three steps: a welcome, your first source, and a plan. You can skip the source and add one later from Discover or the library.
2. Add something worth keeping
Paste a YouTube channel or RSS feed and fetch a preview first. Confirming is what subscribes you and starts ingestion. If a show has a long catalog, you choose how many recent episodes to add. The default is the last 10. You can also search Discover, upload your own audio or documents, import OPML, or forward a newsletter.
3. Wait until it is indexed
Transcription and indexing run in the background. Sedgem prefers existing captions when a matching video has them, then transcribes the audio, then splits the text so search and Ask can retrieve a passage with its source. The library shows when something is still processing. Public catalog items are processed once; your subscription, progress, and questions stay on your account.
4. Listen, read, or ask
Open an episode to hear the original audio and read the transcript. Open Ask when you want a question answered from that library, with citations you can play. Or enter a subject and build a Subject Stream: a queue of original-source moments across the shows you follow, not a remixed audio file.
The member app also runs on the web after you sign in. A native app covers listening, playback, and Ask, using the same account. Deep links use the sedgem:// scheme.
